Louie Gerzin drove in six runs on the night while Riley Bernsdorf and Sean Jordan earned pitching wins in a 12-1, 11-3 sweep at Veterans Memorial Field.
Ely, which hosts Aurora in a Border Area twinbill at 6 p.m. today, improved to 14-2 on the year.
Neither game was much of a contest. In the opener, Bernsdorf held N-K to two hits and struck out nine. He helped his own cause with a two-run triple, while Gerzin had a two-run triple and finished with three runs batted in. Max Gantt went three-for four and both Jordan and Nick Myre added two hits.
Riley and Trevor Bernsdorf combined for four hits and six RBI in the nightcap. Jordan went the five-inning distance, allowing two hits with five strikeouts. Greg Helget and Gerzin both chipped in with two hits. Will Gustafson also contributed a pair of hits.
Ely can wrap up the Border Area regular season title with a sweep of Aurora today.
