Wisconsin powerhouse Viroqua claimed the inside track toward a first-place finish in the Sir G's Midsummer Classic with an extra-inning win on Sunday morning.
Trailing 3-0 after six innings, Viroqua tied the game in the seventh and pushed across three runs in the top of the ninth to claim a 6-3 win over St. Paul Arcade-Phalen in Sunday's opening game.
Viroqua finished the tournament with a 4-0 record and is now 29-15 overall. Deer River (2-0) was the only other tournament team without a loss entering play on Sunday.
